Overview

Enhance basic Microsoft Excel skills. Learn about logical spreadsheet functions such as the IF statement and spreadsheet utilities such as side by side comparisons and password protecting.

Target Audience

This course is aimed at regular users of Microsoft Excel who wish to create and use more advanced formulas with emphasis on working with long lists of data and multiple spreadsheets and workbooks.

Prerequisites

It is essential that course participants have successfully completed the Excel 2003 Core course, or have gained a similar level of knowledge within the work environment. Specifically participants need to be fully conversant in:

  • Basic Formulas and Functions (SUM, MAX etc).
  • Absolute and Relative Referencing.
  • Worksheet formatting.

Objectives

Upon completion users will be able to:

  • Increase productivity and produce professional, structured Excel workbooks using formulas and templates.
  • Effectively manage and manipulate list data using Excel’s sorting and filtering options.
  • Create visual representations of data using Charts for output in Excel or other Office applications.
